A large website in a technology niche that needed to catch up with its competitors reached out to us in September 2021.

The website had plenty of products, but was unfortunately riddled with severe problems with indexation. It also had a gigantic gap in the content when compared to its competitors.

Action and Implementation

After the initial analysis and SEO audit, which the client's developers eagerly worked on, we started link building and content planning. Husky Hamster designed the content plan to increase the content layer of the website. We wanted to explore this site's potential to gain traffic through informational content.

While we were building between 20 and 30 links a month, at the same time, the client's content team was creating around 20k words of blog content monthly.

The content we built for the purpose of link building happened to have been picked up and syndicated by 3rd party websites. The additional exposure has significantly increased the number of links the domain gained during the campaign.

On top of initial auditing, content strategy, and links, we have been supporting the client with post-implementation technical SEO consultations of approximately 4 hours every month. The consultations helped aid the client's team with the ongoing work and some issues on the site.

Even though the website saw some fluctuation around the June Core Algorithm Update, it quickly recovered before the update fully rolled out.

The Results

Overall, the website's traffic grew by 1,734.37% (over 17x).

What allowed this undisputed success were a few main elements.

First of all, we found a great working relationship with the client's team. Had the client not worked as swiftly and not so religiously followed our recommendations, this could have had a less spectacular result.

Secondly, the synergy we found between strong content plan execution and link building. Here's what I always say:

It's easy because if you don't overcomplicate it, you can rely on the 3 main elements of it: content, links, technical.

It's difficult because when you start going down the rabbit hole of all the details, it gets complicated rapidly.

Nonetheless, in our strategy, we chose not to complicate things too much.
