We handled this campaign for a relatively young e-commerce website aspiring to become a significant player in the CBD industry.

The owner was determined to increase the site's commercial value as soon as possible because they were in early talks with a potential investor.

Action and Implementation

After looking at this project's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT), we focused on content strategy combined with link building.

We performed the initial keyword research to discover content ideas relating to informational user intent. We chose this user intent because the website already had decent commercial (buying) targetting.

Keyword research played an essential role in informing the seeding of the semantic content plan. Based on the discovered keywords, we used them as core seed keywords and pulled all article ideas semantically relevant to those keywords.

This approach allowed us to discover almost 40 topics already split into core-keyword-based topical clusters.

Working tirelessly on one silo at a time, we've written and published the content.

After each piece of content went live, we built 2-3 links to the newly published blog posts and 1-2 to the homepage. We continued doing so until the website jumped into its "authority mode", when the content started to pick up keywords without any links.

At this stage, we focused on building an equal number of links pointing to the commercial and blog pages.

Alongside this, we also worked with internal links, which we used to drive "link juice" (AKA Page Rank) towards the core money pages. This technique is, in fact, so potent that we call it "internal link building".

The Results

We started seeing some uplift in traffic related to the new blog posts around 2-3 months into the campaign.

Thanks to our CBD link building services, the proper "pop" happened approximately 5-6 months into the campaign when the drastic uplift occurred. You can see it clearly in the BEFORE screenshot below.

We parted ways with the client after 7 months of good work, after the client managed to finalize the investment. They started working with the agency preferred by the investment group.
